Schwimmbad Lasurnij in Prypjat

Unser nächstes Ziel in Pripjat ist das Schwimmbad “Lasurniy” (“Türkisblau”). Wenn man hört, dass das Schwimmbad bis 1998, also noch 12 Jahre nach dem Unfall weiter betrieben wurde, stellt sich unter Berücksichtigung der Evakuierung automatisch die Frage: “Für wen?”. Die ersten Jahre nach dem Unfall funktionierten in Pripjat mehrere staatlichen Betriebe und Organisationen, die mit der Beseitigung der Katastrophenfolgen beschäftigt waren. Die Zahl der so genannten “Liquidatoren” pendelt irgendwo zwischen 600000 und einer Million Menschen. Das in 4 Km entfernte AKW wurde nach einer kurzen Instandsetzung in Betrieb genommen und produzierte mit seinen 3 weiteren Blöcken bis 2000 elektrischen Strom. Das Kraftwerkspersonal, aber auch Spezialisten, Ärzte, Wissenschaftler die zeitweise in Pripjat untergebracht wurden, waren diejenigen die in “Lasurniy” ihre Bahnen gezogen haben.
